If you have ever watched Video Option, you most likely have seen clips of young Haraguchi Mitsuru. His unique style stood out in the drift community and made him memorable. Most notably he was known for drifting his famous yellow FC RX-7 with shortened stock knuckles to allow for more angle. People would watch his yellow FC drift and would also want modified knuckles to achieve the angle Mitsuru was able to get. Soon he began to make a name for himself in modifying arms for various cars and thus 326 Power was born. Not many people know the origin of the brand’s name. While some will assume that they are random numbers, the reasoning behind the name is actually Mitsuru’s name. His name in Japanese is pronounced Mi-Tsu-Ru, the same pronunciation for the numbers three, two, and six respectively and thus he named his brand 326. Interestingly, because of this, the brand is known as Mitsuru Power in Japan and 326 Power elsewhere.
When we were in Japan, we knew we had to visit the shop. The shop is located deep in the countryside of Hiroshima. So deep in fact that the nearest train station dropped us off four miles away from the shop. There were no taxis and not even sidewalks so we had to make the journey on foot and along the street. After a while, we laid eyes on this Toyota GT86 and we instantly knew we were at the right place.
This GT86 is one of the shop worker’s cars. This would be the car to, later on, unveil and showcase the insane Gacha-Bari body kit. Turning the corner, we were immediately met by this red S15. The sheer detail on this car was amazing. So detailed in fact that every bolt was replaced in favor of 326 branded bolts.
One of our favorite features on this S15 was the extremely low mounted side view mirrors. By just lowering the mounting position, the car looked that much better and is a testament to how little details really make a build.
We received a warm welcome by the 326 staff and Mr. Mitsuru himself. They allowed us to take a look inside the garage. Immediately the gorgeous Flare Yellow Lexus LC500 stole our attention.
The car had an immense presence within the shop. To see a luxury coupe slammed on the ground with aggressive fitment topped with a beautiful pale yellow was simply jaw-dropping.
Also housed in the garage was another GT86. This car was testing the new 3D Star Lip Kit that was in development for the ZN6 platform. The three-piece lip kit comes with a front lip, side skirts, and a rear diffuser. A rear roof spoiler, rear trunk spoiler, and fog lamp covers can be optioned to the kit as well. We love the lip kit and feel as though it provides a simple and clean yet aggressive addition to the car’s styling.
Coming from the ZN6 community, this GT86 was impressive, to say the least. Someone unfamiliar with the chassis may overlook the attention to detail that can be found throughout the build. Like the red S15 outside, this GT86 utilized 326 branded bolts to mount the side view mirrors. Little details such as the gloss black emblems, the red fourth brake light, and sticker placement all add up to give the car so much character.
As we neared the end of our tour, we couldn’t help but notice the bright yellow S15 in a corner of the shop. The bright yellow caught our eye but the missing body panels probed our curiosity. This turns out to be Mr. Mitsuru’s personal drift car and when we asked why the panels were missing we were told that the panels were waiting to be fitted with their newly developed body kit.
